There are a variety of diseases that can afflict an individual’s body.  Generally, these diseases affect specific organs within the body and cause disruption of the normal processes that the body preforms in order to maintain one’s health.

For example, if an individual is prone to seizures, this type of malady generally affects the brain and the nervous system.  This in turn has the potential of reducing the quality of life for the individual and prevents them from engaging in practices that other individuals can do  An example of a behavior that an individual suffering from seizures could not partake in would be the driving of a motor vehicle.

Another malady that could affect an individual the condition of hemophilia. This inability of a person’s blood to clot could be a major reason why an individual could not participate in various types of activities.

Diabetic is another condition which disturbs the lifestyle of a person.  Fortunately along with the other above listed diseases, there have been medical breakthroughs that allow the individual to take medications that help to alleviate the medical conditions effects upon the human body.

Therefore if considering the disease of diabetes, it is important to know what diabetes is and ways that diabetes can be managed.  One specific way of managing the condition of diabetes is adherence to strict diabetes diet guidelines.

Diabetes Diet Guidelines: What Is Diabetes?

Diabetes or diabetes mellitus is a disease that affects the pancreas in such a way that the insulin that is manufactured in the pancreas is minimized or not produced at all.  In addition, the purpose of the hormone known as insulin is to convert the sugar intake of an individual and turn that conversion process in to energy.  A person who scores 126 mg/dL or more as part of their fasting blood glucose laboratory test is generally considered a diabetic.

Subsequently, this energy that is produced in the body helps to revitalize the cells and give the body the energy that it needs to perform the various activities throughout the day.

Additionally, the energy level of a diabetes affected person goes down and he experiences many other side effects. There are some side effects that are problem in eye sight, frequently urinate and feeling thirsty.  In addition, an individual’s chances of having a stroke or disease of the heart are increased.

Diabetes Diet Guidelines: Managing Diabetes

Therefore, if an individual has been diagnosed with diabetes or may have borderline diabetes it is important that they manage this condition.  Examples of ways that this disease can be managed are through medication, the injection of insulin, a regular exercise program and eating appropriate foods through recommended diabetes diet guidelines.

Specifically, when it comes to diabetes diet guidelines it is important that the individual follow specific eating patterns. On should follow the diabetes diet by eating vegetables, fruits and whole grains.

In addition, another important component of diabetes diet guidelines is to avoid certain foods.  Those particular foods include the abstinence or minimal use of sugar and sweets, animal protein, etc.

One of the major diseases that can affect an individual’s health is a diabetic condition.  Generally, there are three diabetic conditions that can be experienced by an individual.Type 1, type 2 and gestational diabetes are three different types of diabetic condition.

In addition, some of these diabetic conditions can be avoided while other diabetic conditions are due to a specific condition that the individual is experiencing or can be due to their genetic makeup. In addition, diabetes can be measured in stages.  Therefore, if being diagnosed as a borderline diabetic, it is important to adhere to a borderline diabetes diet.

Borderline Diabetes Diet: Types Of Diabetes

The medical condition known as diabetes can be basically compiled into three specific diabetic conditions.  Those three specific diabetic conditions include type I diabetes, type II diabetes and Gestational diabetes.

Type 1 diabetes is the condition which is diagnosed at an early age.  In particular this type of diabetic condition reveals that the young person’s pancreas is not able to produce any insulin or very minimal amounts.

Additionally, type II diabetes is the most frequently diagnosed condition of diabetes and is more common amongst individuals and specifically may be diagnosed in specific ethnicities.People of Asian Americans, Native Americans, African Americans and Latinos origin are highly affected of type 2 diabetes.  In this particular type of diabetes the individual is also unable to produce insulin, but often this condition arises as a person progresses in age.

The other major type of diabetic condition is gestational diabetes.  This is a medical condition that affects the ability of the pancreas to produce insulin due to a woman’s pregnancy.  Specifically, the pregnant woman experiences high blood sugar levels during the course of the pregnancy.  This leads to the body’s inability to secrete enough insulin to manage the higher levels of sugar produced during the pregnancy of the woman.

Borderline Diabetes Diet

Another condition that may exist but may not be considered as a condition of full-blown diabetes is a condition known as borderline diabetes.  A borderline diabetic is an individual whose fasting blood sugar level test that comes back from the medical laboratory has a range of 100 to 125 mg/dL.

If an individual has been diagnosed with this condition, it is important to take measures to prevent this condition from moving to being classified as a full diabetic.  Some of those measures that can be taken include an exercise program, having one’s blood checked regularly and adhering to a borderline diabetes diet.

Although there is no uniform borderline diabetes diet, there are specific diabetes diet guidelines that should be followed.  Therefore, a borderline diabetes diet consists of foods that are low in sugar content and consist of the minimal use of animal products.Fruits, vegetables and food grains in big amount is necessary for borderline diabetes diet.

Diabetes is a medical condition that affects a significant number of people around the world.  Specifically, a person who is a diabetic or is a borderline diabetic is an individual whose pancreas is not functioning as it should.

This means that this major organ in the body is not producing insulin or not enough insulin to help in the breakdown of sugar that is ingested by the body.  Therefore, this condition leads to a number of symptoms that ultimately may lead to serious health conditions such as incurring a stroke or heart disease.

Therefore, it is important to know about the two basic types of diabetic conditions and how to prevent acquiring type II diabetes.  This can be done through a number of means including a diabetes prevention diet.

Diabetes Prevention Diet: Overview of Diabetic Conditions

Pancreas is the main organ of a human body which helps in breaking down the sugar quantity and convert the glucose into energy. The process involves the production and secretion of insulin into the blood stream which in turn helps to break down the glucose and convert the sugar into energy. In sequence, the distribution of energy continues to various cells in the body.

When the pancreas does not produce insulin or not enough insulin then the process is compromised.  This in turn allows the buildup of sugar within the bloodstream and therefore causes the individual to become sluggish and fatigued.

There are a number of symptoms associated with a nonfunctioning or less than optimum functioning of the pancreas. Some symptoms may be going bathroom frequently, feel hungry after taken the food, extreme thirst, tiredness, weight loss and unclear vision. There may be a chance of loosing eyesight or heart attack if diabetes is not diagnosed.

Diabetes Prevention Diet: Preventative Measures

There are a number of preventive measures that an individual or family can take for their loved one as preventive measures.  Those preventative measures could include an exercise program that helps to move the sugar found in the individual cells and adherence to a quality diet.

When it comes to a diabetes prevention diet it is important to note a number of factors regarding this type of preventative measure.  Specifically, when considering a diabetes prevention diet, it is important to eat the right foods and to abstain from other types of foods.

Proper diet is necessary for you even if you are affected by borderline diabetes.  This type of diet is called a borderline diabetes diet and identifies those foods that should and should not be eaten.  An individual who is a borderline diabetic is one who generally has a fasting blood sugar level that ranges between 100 to 125 mg/dL.

Therefore, foods that should be eaten when on a diabetes prevention diet are those foods that are high in nutrition, are not empty calories and are foods that are low in fat.  Examples of foods that should be eaten as part of a diabetes prevention diet include fruits, vegetables and whole grain products.

Additionally, as part of a diabetes prevention diet, it is important to stay away from unhealthy foods.  Those types of foods that should be excluded from a diabetes prevention diet should be animal products and sweets.
