Cardiac Science AED Trainers are manufactured while keeping the safety of the trainer and trainees in mind. This AED Trainer features simulated delivery of defibrillation pulse and does not actually deliver defibrillation for safety reasons. The trainees can learn to use Zoll Pads in a simulated environment and prepare themselves for actual medical emergencies.
American Heart Association (AHA) and American Red Cross are continuously making efforts to spread awareness about the lifesaving automatic external defibrillators or Zoll Pads. These devices are needed in all public places, offices, and organizations as defibrillation shock is the only definitive treatment for sudden cardiac arrest. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) helps in pumping oxygenated blood through the body of the victim but it fails to bring heart rate to normal which is possible by delivering a shock via a defibrillator.
American Heart Association’s Heartsaver AED Anytime Personal Learning Program is perfect for imparting the knowledge for performing CPR and using an AED. The aim of this course is to train the rescuers to minimize the risks to both the victim and the responder. Most organizations are hesitant to follow a public access defibrillation (PAD) program as they are afraid of being sued. There have been no known instances of a lay rescuer being sued for providing CPR or defibrillation as Good Samaritans.
If a business or organization possesses an AED, it has to comply with the AED regulations and AED protocols. AED requirements also include Zoll Pads trained staff. Also AED equipment should be placed properly so that anybody can access it in time of need. It is important to follow the guidelines of the American Red Cross and American Heart Association. It is also crucial to evaluate at least once every month that the AED device is in a condition to be readily used in case of an emergency medical situation.
Sudden cardiac arrest claims million of lives every year and the automated external defibrillators are the life saving devices which are used for saving the victims by delivering an electric shock to them. AEDs are easy to use devices which anyone can use with a little training and save a precious life in an emergency medical situation like sudden cardiac arrest. AED Trainers are perfect devices for educating the trainees to use AED devices in medical emergencies. Various brands manufacture AED Trainers but Cardiac Science AED Trainer is one of the best in the market. This next generation AED Trainer has a wide range of features which make it stand out from other trainers. This AED Trainer has intuitive voice prompts, enhanced voice quality and is user-friendly, lightweight and compact. A full-size Cardiac Science AED.
The benefit of using AED Trainers for teaching the trainees is that it is the most cost-effective method. The training electrodes are reusable and can be used with a variety of CPR manikins. This training device is powered with economical alkaline D-cell batteries and only two AAA batteries are needed for remote control. Another benefit of Cardiac Science AED Trainer is that it is made in accordance with the actual AED devices. The real automated external defibrillators are available in two types—automatic and semi-automatic, the Cardiac Science AED Trainer can be configured in both automatic and semi-automatic training modes. A trainee will be able to operate both types of AED devices easily after training on this unique AED Trainer.
With the increase in awareness about Zoll Pads, the companies and organizations need to be prepared to tackle a situation involving cardiac emergency or they face greater threat of being involved in a law suit. In fact, there have been instances where lawsuits were filed for not having an AED. In 1996, Busch Gardens had to pay $ 500,000 in damages to the plaintiff for death of her teenage daughter as the employees of Busch Gardens were not trained to provide emergency care. Lufthansa Airlines was sued for not being able to treat a passenger victimized by sudden cardiac arrest. A suit was also filed against United Airlines by a widow whose husband had died from sudden cardiac arrest. She alleged that the airline was not carrying proper medical equipment to provide timely treatment to her husband.

The Cardiac Science Zoll Defibrillator Portable Defib Trainer is manufactured while keeping in mind the guidelines of American Heart Association (AHA) and the curriculum of Heartsaver AED Anytime Personal Learning Program which ensures that a trainee will be able to use any automated external defibrillator after completion of training on this AED Trainer. The AED Trainer also has 8 preprogrammed simulated rescue scenarios to give a trainee maximum exposure to emergency medical situations. The infrared, wireless remote control allows the instructor to advance the rescue stages or pause and interrupt a scenario for imparting additional information. The voice prompts given by Cardiac Science AED Trainer are same as the ones the trainees would hear in an actual situation.
This device provides the instructor with the flexibility to change the rescue scenarios according to the needs of the class, the simulated cardiac rhythms can also be changed from shockable to non-shockable. It also allows the instructor to monitor the skills of students while they are going through the simulated rescue attempts. The trainer can also select any of the multiple languages, such as French, Spanish, Greek, Italian, Russian, Portuguese, Dutch, etc. This Zoll Defibrillator Portable Defib Trainer works with various AEDs like Powertheart AED G3, Powerheart AED G3 Automatic, and FirstSave AED G3.

For buying an AED, a prescription from a physician is required according to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Though the rules may differ from state to state but almost every state requires an individual to undergo basic CPR and AED courses from organizations like American Heart Association. Laws were also passed so that people could help a victim of sudden cardiac arrest in an emergency medical situation without fear of any repercussions. In November 2000, the Cardiac Arrest Survival Act (CASA) was signed into law and it directs that automated external defibrillators should be placed in federal buildings. It also exempts Good Samaritans from any liability for providing defibrillation in case of sudden cardiac arrest.

Receiving Zoll Aed Plus grant is a time consuming process, and for getting grant a bit earlier, you need to do some research on the internet to identify the best possible source for providing the grant. Once your have found the funding source, you’ll need to write a proposal for receiving financial support to get AEDs. Be sure to write your proposal lucidly and precisely leaving no room for error. As it might take weeks and sometimes months for sanctioning of the AED grant, you’ll need to be patient. If you do not want to wait too long for your AED grant, you can contact associations like Lions Club, Moose Lodges, Elks Clubs, Rotary Clubs, etc. You can also contact the local Optimist Club for help if your project is concerned with the welfare of children.
You also need to be wary of the false Zoll Aed Plus grants as you will be given only limited information by the AED merchants, and they will recommend only certain type of AEDs at hiked prices. You will also be required to fill in the grant application form where you will need to fill in personal data which might be misused later. So, do your research carefully for getting AED grant from reliable sources.
The American Heart Association (AHA) is a national voluntary health agency which was founded in 1924 by six cardiologists representing several groups from different states of the US for conducting research and studies on information about heart disease. The founding members were Dr Lewis A. Conner and Dr Robert H. Halsey of New York, Dr Paul D. White of Boston, Dr Joseph Sailer of Philadelphia, Dr Robert B. Preble of Chicago and Dr Hugh D. McCulloch of St. Louis. American Heart Association is working towards the goal of reducing coronary heart disease, stroke and risk by 25 percent by 2010.
AEDs or Zoll Aed Plus are used to revive the victims of sudden cardiac arrest. The importance of availability of this lifesaving device has been recognized by various renowned associations like the American Heart Association (AHA) and American Red Cross. AHA advocates that these devices must be available at all the places where public gathers as sudden cardiac arrest can victimize anyone, anywhere irrespective of age or fitness levels. Timely defibrillation can save up to 100,000 precious lives. These devices need to be readily available in companies, clubs apart from malls, airports, train stations, etc.
Sudden cardiac arrest can victimize a person of any age or fitness level anywhere, anytime. Zoll Aed Plus (AED) is a life-saving device used to administer electric shock to a person suffering from sudden cardiac arrest. American Heart Association promotes implementing AED programs successfully in schools, airports, railway stations, healthcare centers, offices, casinos, stadiums, restaurants and other places. Using AED requires some basic training that involves learning how to use AED effectively in emergency situations. According to a survey by AHA, most Americans are not confident of performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and using an automated external defibrillator (AED) during a cardiac emergency. AHA wants people to overcome any fears and take lifesaving decision. For this AED training is very essential.

American Heart Association aims at protecting and helping people from heart disease and stroke since more than 8 decades. The association invests millions of dollars every year for AED Zoll Defibrillators research, AED training, and AED programs for a healthy and stronger America. According to the American Heart Association:
- CPR rescue attempts using AED’s improves survival rates by as much as 49%.
- Every single day 1,000 adults die from Sudden Cardiac Arrest in the US i.e. about 350,000 each year.
- Heart diseases take more than 930,000 American lives a year.
- It is possible to save 20,000 to 100,000 lives if AED programs are implemented effectively.
- AED assistance can save the lives of up to 90% of its victims, if help is provided within the first minute of sudden cardiac arrest.
- With every passing minute until defibrillation, the victim’s survival rate decreases by 10%.
Having an AED Zoll Defibrillators in an establishment is as essential as having fire extinguishers or smoke alarms. An AED costs anywhere between $1500 and $2500 and such high costs restricts implementing AED programs. However, many people are also unaware about the AED health grants that have been made available by local, state or federal government to facilitate public institutions, government organizations, schools, and non-profit organizations in buying and deploying AEDs.
There are also over 65,000 private foundations in the US that provide AED grants. These foundations provide grants up to $20 billion to fund AED programs as it is mandatory for them to give 5% of their market value assets for generous causes to maintain their tax-exemption status. The main reason for encouraging grants for automated external defibrillators is to enhance the quality of first aid administered in emergency situations. The grant can be availed on all popular brands of AEDs, such as ZOLL, Philips, Meditronic, Burdick and lots more. The Zoll Defibrillators manufacturers want to increase their market share by selling maximum number of these lifesaving devices. Hence, some AED grant programs are also funded by corporates and AED manufacturer sponsors.
American Heart Association provides CPR and Zoll Defibrillators training through its various training centers. The AHA’s new Heartsaver AED Course includes both CPR and AED training and is less than four hours in duration. Apart from classroom CPR and AED instruction, the American Heart Association also offers a self-paced CPR Anytime Kit where training happens through an inflatable manikin and instructional DVD.
The association has been making efforts to promote public access to defibrillation (PAD) so that AEDs are available at all public and/or private places where large numbers of people gather. AHA is also making efforts to create awareness about the need and effectiveness of CPR training. Most people are not aware of the fact that in case of a sudden cardiac arrest, only half of the patients actually require defibrillation, others need CPR. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation helps in circulation of oxygen-rich blood to brain and heart. Even after delivering an electric shock, a typical Automated External Defibrillator will prompt the rescuer to continue CPR.
