You have subscribed to the best nutrition weight loss magazines and have practically borrowed all the books containing that topic from the local library in the hope of achieving the desired weight naturally. Shopping for groceries takes longer than usual as you thoroughly go over all the food labels. But just because the label says that the food is ‘low fat’ does not mean it is good for you.

Mistake 1: You assume that what you eat and drink is good enough.

This is a common nutrition mistake. People believe everything that the advertisers tell them. Low calorie does not equal healthy if there are no nutrients in the food. You cannot get better than fresh produce, including vegetables and unprocessed meat. There are certain nutrients that are lost during the processing. Fruit fresh from the tree or ground is better than fruit juices as they are often packed with sugar. Fresh items do not have the sugar and preservatives that many ‘fresh fruit juices’ have in them.

Mistake 2: Over-eating and Under-eating.

in dieting, people can be fooled by two methods of fat loss. Eating too much food, be it healthy or unhealthy will mean that you retain the weight you want to lose. And if you starve yourself with tiny meals your body will store all the fat that enters it and you will in fact put weight on. eat regularly but have small portions, this is better than two or three large meals.

Mistake 3: Using numerous supplements.

Supplements can be of vitamins, minerals and other compounds our body needs. But taking too many supplements or those which have not been through FDA consulting can do more harm than good. Vitamins should be prescribed by a doctor and should not be solicited from just about anybody including the sales person in the local pharmacy.

You may have a friend that has lost loads of weight on one programme, but you try it and nothing happens, this is because people lose weight differently. Bottom line, seeking the advice of reliable health practitioners should be your first step in nutrition weight loss plan.
